heyy everyone kinda new to this site. my friend had an old school GSR, DA model and he took out the motor to put in his CRX..buutt now he has a b16a in his rex and wanted to sell the motor. I got the motor for 500$ 120k on the motor and runs strong. I have a 94' RS DC4 with a stock ls b18b and am thinking of doing the swap...some say i should and some say i shouldnt...should iiii???? :confusedo

Use the head and keep your block

doing an ls/vtec or swaping the whole motor in are both great power increases DO IT!!!!! lol

lol yeah i think i am. the motor is sitting in my friends garage right now until i'm able to do the swap. All i need now is an ECU. Thinking of running it off a P28. any other suggestions on whats best??

just put the b17 in, youll be happy... oh yeah use a p28.

you'll hate the lack of torque of the b16/b17 especially in a heavy integra. I know a few people who've put b16s in their integra's and they regretted it as soon as they drove it.
I'd do a lsvtec before putting a b16 in a teg. But don't expect a whole lot of power by slapping a stock b16 head on a stock LS bottom end. And yes, use a p28, they're a pretty much universal ecu once chipped....meaning you can run pretty much any engine with it, i've run d-series (vtec or not), b-series (vtec or not), h-series and even the f-series (accords) off a p28. PM me if you need one. |
you could sell the crank and rods out of the b17 on h-t for almost $500... everyone wants them to stroke their b16's.
i have a 93 GSR ecu that is already socketed and chipped for tuning on crome if you are interested. $150. pm me. |
keep the head, sell the block. use that money to buy an LS block and build it to handle 8000rpm.

Drop it in! Just make sure to use the proper hardware on the motor mounts.... not JB weld!
