auto tranny issue
 

i have a 95 ls drove it for about 75 kms then next morning car wouldnt go anywhere. car starts, idles, and revs fine, i can put it into r,n,d etc... no weird noises or anything like that and i topped up the tranny fluid with about 4 liters. dont see any tranny fluid on the ground so not sure if it is leaking into the rad or something can anyone help please?!?!?!?

where is the oil level on the dipstick when the car is running. 4 liters seems a little too much for topping up

If your tranny is gone I have one 95with 60 kms on it bought from Toronto JDM I never used it . 200 take it I paid 250 I will take the loss thank you.

I'm guessing it's an issue with the shifter cables or linkage.

And yeah, 4L is probably way too much. I did a trany fluid change on my wife's 94 accord and it only took about 2L....

Try moving the shifter slowly, first into R and wait. You'll feel the car jerk a bit and the rpms will drop slightly as it shifts into gear and puts load on the engine. If it doesn't do any of this (actually remains in park), then there is something wrong with the shifter cable, linkage or one or more of the shift solenoids.

First things first, follow the correct procedure to determine if the trany fluid is at the proper level and drain or top up accordingly. I believe you have to check the trany fluid level with the engine running (in park) and at operating temperature (not cold).

you should be able to do it cold or hot if it has the cold and hot marks on the dip stick

yep most cars have dipsticks with both hot and cold markers on them for the tranny fluid
