Hey guys i got this problem that keeps occuring. Basically i got 2 12" infinity subs 1230w peak and 300RMS @ ohms, and 600 RMS @ 2ohms, 300 RMS @ 4ohms. I got the system hooked up by pros. I also got an Panasonic CQ-C8400U (60x4W).

Whenever i have the system loud for good 10mins the fuse under the hood (not the SUB fuse) but the fuse under the hood under the black box keeps blowing. It's called the "back-up" fuse. It's rated at 7.5A. I changed that like atleast 6 times. When the fuse does blow it kills the power to the deck and the clock on my integra (97' integra).

So i went to Bestbuy to check it out, the guy says the deck is REALLY hot when he took it out. He also said there shouldn't be a reason for the fuse to blow. So what he did was made a separate circuit for the clock and for the deck. He also said that by running this deck you can get your hardness on fire and what not, since there is no fuse for it (or something).

Is this true? Has anyone had this problem? The deck plays perfectly fine until the fuse dies off. I'd put a higher fuse instead of 7.5A (ie. 10A) but why would the 7.5A blow in the first place, and it says to put 7.5A isn't it bad to put 10A instead of 7.5A.

run your constant power (12V yellow) wire on the panasonic harness directly to the battery or the fusebox under your dash and run the ground also off the panasonic directly to the chassis. (make sure you tape off the constant power wiring off your harness adaptor) the reason why the fuse is blowing is because the deck, since it's a high power one, is drawing more current than the factory stereo wiring and fuse is capable of carrying.

make sure that if there is no fuse in on the panasonic deck, you run one inline with the constant power wire of the proper value.

it's normal for a deck to get hot if it's a receiver, especially if you're cranking it, (an am/fm/cd receiver has an amp built in, an am/fm/cd tuner does not) as the extra heat generated from the high powered amp inside has to go somewhere.

hey bro .. thx for the info.. i think thats what the bestbuy guy did ... i'll just double check.. but just a min ago i had my deck playin high and no fuse blew or anything. so i guess it should be fine. Thanks a lot for the info though.

PS: this shouldn't mess up anything should it? by not running through the fusebox (and the deck does come w/ a fuse i think it's 10 or 7.5 i forgot)
