Anyone Have a B16a1
Anyone Have a B16a1 in their 2nd gen teg, and how is it ?
performance and maintenance wise... also how much to put in all total costs? |
not worth it. if u want to be quicker stick to ur b18 or if u need a new engine get a b20 or b18b. b16 are way to slow
|
if you're gonna do a b16 you'd have to the tranny aswell. if you keep the stock tranny acceleration is gonna suck moose balls on top of the poor low end torque it already has...just build an ls/vtec.
|
i gotta b16a in my 92' teg, and i have a J1 short gear tranny, im not lookin for speed, its not bad, with some head work and some exaust flow u can be quick, but your dumpn alota money, if u wanna go fast get a good motor....i just revv the piss outta my car.
|
ok good good tips, b20z is the way
|
im planning on buying a b16a off a friend of a friend for $650-$700 motor only. do u guys think its worth it? i have a 94 rs.. if i decide to buy the engine i was gonna chip it n go all motor. what do u guys think?

because if your asking you clearly haven't.
The information is out there, invarious different threads in our tech section already and other sites |
thats pretty cheap for a b16.....i got my 2nd gen with ys1 for $1600
|
you ever consider you have to pay high octane for a b16? That should be enough to deter you.

buddy of mine and jugga's has a B18C1 in his 91 teg and it pulls on another buddy's hatch with 1st gen B16, R cams, dc headers, cat back exhaust, with punched cat and chipped ecu. the B18C1 has no mods at all, I would do gsr swap if I were you.

I never was saying that a b16 in an Integra like your buddies Jugga is fast. I had one in my car for a short short time, and it was terribly slow due to its lack of torque. |

ew 1.6L civic engine. that alone should stop your from buying one. h22 that muthamutha. or maybe k20. but i had an rsx. and it was slow as hell. my z24 stomps it. and my cavs 4 spd. the rsx was 5spd tip. i dont know about the type s 200/210hp. but the 160hp has no balls.
