Default Antenna Override

I attempted to do the override after reading the guide on Team-Integra, but I couldn't find the yellow w/ green stripe wire that it mentioned. I looked at the bunch of wires that plugs into the deck and the closes match I can find is a solid yellow one. Does anyone know if that's the wire? Really need some help here!

is the wire you are talking about in the harness? or is it from the back of the deck? I have an alpine deck and the yellow wire running directly from the back of the deck for the antenna is the yellow one.

This is strange, once I installed my new deck, the antenna only moves when I switch to Tuner, otherwise it doesn't move at all. I have the grinding noise with my antenna motor, so I'm looking to disconnect it from the motor entirely.

when you turn the deck to tuner the antenna is supposed to deploy, when you switch from tuner to CD for example it is supposed to retract. The problem with OEM integra antennas is that all the internals are made of plastic so they wear out very quickly. Its usually not an electrical problem but a mechanical one with the motor. To disable the motor the easiest thing is to just unplug the wiring harness from the antenna motor. It is located in the drivers side rear directly under the antenna. Just remove the plastic trim and unplug it. don't worry about cutting the yellow wire from the deck. If you do that then you will have to repair the wire as well as replace the antenna if you ever buy a new one.

oh yeah, the auto antenna retract may ONLY work with AFTERMARKET decks, NOT the stock deck.

The wire you are looking for is under the dash or it is run through a wire budle on the drivers side footwell closest to the door. (you will have to remove the trim and peel back the carpet to access it)

If for some wierd reason your antenna wire is a different color, double check by going to the trunk and exposing the antenna wire harness by removing the trim under the antenna. there will only be three wires running through the harness ( on my car they are a yellow and red wire, green and silver wire and (i believe) a white wire)

Use the wire that comes with the deck's harness. It should be in the deck's owner's manual under "antenna". Splice it, and not the factory wiring.
