Another problem :( Severe performance loss!

Okay so i just fixed my idling problem. So im driving to Etobicoke to work, i was going about 30km on Hwy 27, everything's fine, all of a sudden my car starts putting like CRAZY. Almost like it's back firing. It sounds like its gasping for air, like it needs air or something. Its runs really choppy and the moment it happened i got about a 30% performance drop. I could barely drive to work cuz the car can barely accelerate. Now my exhaust is scorching loud and it sounds like ----. I dunno what to do.

Could the timing belt have skipped and miss-aligned? (even tho i wasn't giving it alot of gas at the time.

Can my cat be plugged?

I hope its my cat, im gunna try punching it. I dont even know it you can punch the cat? Are their pellets inside the cat? Can i just drill two holes in it or what?

Any help would be much appreciated.

it sounds like you have a mis-fire. could be the ignition system.

you just have to check spark plug, wires, cap and rotor.

Do you have any modifications? I try putting in 91 octane or higher.. this will help with the combustion .. if the octane level is to low.. you can have premature detination.. if you dont have any performance mods (bolt on does not could in this case. what i mean is turbo/stroker/nitro/very agresive camshafts.... ect.. if u have any of that u should run high octane.. at least 94)... if u dont.. check ur plugs.. u may just have a bad connection...

Sounds like your only firing on 3 cylinders - misfiring caused by faulty wires and/or plugs .. when is the last time you did a tune up? You should change your wires roughly every 4 years.. also check your cap and rotor while your at it.. good luck

Agreed. Plugs, rotor, cap and wires. If you're lucky you don't need to replace the whole dizzy. That happened to me when triple core race wires started arching. Freak'n sparks coming off the wires. $350 for about 20,000Km. Man was I pissed. Went back to stock and all is good.

Ahhhhh the memories. Had the same problem with an aftermarket set of wires.

Anyways, stick to stock wires if you decide on purchasing some.

Stick to stock or go with some upgraded NGK both are excellent quality

Its funny i always think the worst first. One of the spark plugs died, and i was all freaking out. Put some NGK's in along with some sport wires. Thanks Again
