Default Airbags

I want to replace my passenger airbag on my 96 teg because the idiot who had the car b4 painted the vinyl cover red. I picked up an airbag of an integra dunno wut yr but it was a dc (94-01) and the 2 connectors are different so I can't plug in the new airbag. Now there is only 2 wires goin to the airbag after the connection so is it wise to just cut the wires off the old one and attach them to the new one? I dont want to ---- with this because it is airbags but on the other hand is there any difference between the airbags that came on DC's? And you cant just remove the vinyl cover off of the whole airbag unit because it is attached with some wierd screws.

I found this on Team-Integra http://www.team-integra.net/forum/di...PagePosition=2
but instead of doing all that if I just cut the wires and Heatshrunk them wouldnt it be the same? I guess i picked up an OBD1 airbag. Anything different about it than my original OBD2?

You should never cut the airbag wires. That method of releasing the pins is the best way to do it. I did it when I swapped a jdm steering wheel in my '94 Integra back in 2002.........
