Default Air Intake/ Breather Installtion

hey, i just installed a short ram air intake to a 97 RS. there's louder noise from the intake under the hood. - that's fine.

i want to add a breather or two... is this beneficial in any way?

the intake tube only has one attachment opening... so i connected the hose back to the motor.

can you insert a breather in between the air intake and the motor?

why? / why not?

Well you can, but if a cop want you to pop your hood, and if he want to be a dick, he can give you a $110 ticket for each one, as it makes you engine a open system. No it is not bebeficial to add them, it will not change a thing.

Police cannot look under your hood unless they are a licened mechanic. So if one asks you to pop the hood ask for the lincence, get them to physically show you it.

Driving over 10km

Yes they can, and you cant do nothing about it, i had that ---- happen to me last year, and I deal with cops at my shop every week, so i am always asking ----. They can, and they will, all they need to say is they have possible cause.

Back on topic now.

thanks a lot, gents!

i just checked this post... after posting another with same thing. except, now i have the breather installed.

i didn't know breathers were illegal.

so, how does it make my motor an open system, Spike? how do they work and how do they work incombination with the intakes?

It's because it makes you crankcase open to the air, and you can not have it like that. I had my car taken off the road because of a ------- cop, all because my BOV did not Best recirculate back into the intake, it went just to air.
