96 ls tranny problems
 

Hey guys ive got a 96 Ls with 275000, the car has been mint for the last 5years. It never had any problems until a month ago when i started to relise its gotten harder to shift into gears. Espesically down shiffting. i dont know if its the clutch or the whole tranny? wondering if anyone with experice with this type of problem could help me out

i could be your clutch is going or a master/slave cylinder leaking . but does it grind in or out of gears?

dosent grind gears. i grinded third a few times when i was getting use to it.

Is it the original clutch?

Could be the synchros are worn or the clutch is on it's way out...

how much does it cost to replace a clutch flywheel and synchros? or is it cheaper to get a new tranny

clutch work is expensive and if you wanna also fix synchros it will cost upwards of 300+ just labour this is what i have heard in the past...new tranny cost 300-500...just putting it out there :yeah:

Where does the clutch engage? Also, could just need some new fluid in the transmission.
