PLEASE HELP 95 Integra tranny problems

Hi all , just wondering if anyone has any ideals on a reason for my problems.
I just put a new clutch in my integra , and I must say what a chore for someone who has never done it before.
Problem 1 : Clutch engagment seems great but after a few starts and stops I push the clutch in and I cant get the car in gear, after a few pumps of the clutch pedal it final pops in ?? So what is it I wonder, Master cylinder, Slave cylinder, air in the system???

Problem 2: Before I changed the clutch the car started no problems without a hicup, after the clutch change it will only start when the car is in gear,if its not in gear I can hear the starter whirlling but not starting the car.??? I should say that I had the ring gear flipped around due to wear while getting the flywheel machined.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Andre

i would say :
1) your clutch slave cylinder and/or clutch master cylinder...mine was doing this before and i replaced the slave cylinder...no problems ever since ($34 at NAPA)
2)im not sure. Putting it in gear or not shouldn't make any difference. You should be able to start it in neutral or in gear as long as you have the clutch pressed all the way down.

Goodluck.

EDIT: you might wanna try bleeding the clutch first to see if maybe that helps with the situation.

Definately sounds like air in the system. Get somebody to pump the pedal then hold the clutch down while you open the bleeder screw. If there is air in the system that is your problem. I would try bleeding it 3 times just to be sure. Also pull the boot back on your slave and see if fluid drips out, if so your slave is bad.
