***How-To*** Check & Clean Your Rear ABS Wheel Sensor

If you have an abs light on consistently and you check the code and it says rear wheel sensor, it may not be damaged, but just need to be cleaned. So to check if yours in dirty follow this article and it may solve your problem.
Tools Required: Ratchet 10mm Short Extension Jack Jack Stands Wheel Lock Rag or Paper Towels 1) First start by removing the rear wheel for either passenger or driver side depending on which one you start with. Make sure to support your car on jack stands and not just the jack. 2) Locate the abs wheel sensor which is directly mounted onto the hub closest to the ground. Attachment 18208 3) Then remove the one 10mm bolt that holds the cover over the abs sensor circled in yellow. Attachment 18209 The Opposite Side Attachment 18210 4) What it looks like with the cover off Attachment 18211 Attachment 18212 5) Next remove the two 10mm bolts from the abs sensor bracket to remove the abs sensor, circled in yellow. Attachment 18213 6) Here's the abs bracket with one bolt removed. Attachment 18214 7) Both bolts removed Attachment 18215 Attachment 18216 Attachment 18217 8) Mine were pretty clean, but I cleaned them anyways. Attachment 18218 Attachment 18219 9) Follow steps 8 - 1 backwards for re-installation. Good Luck |
