^Amazing pics...the pics of the eyes are insane!..

What do u use, I am really wanting to get a DSLR. I used to use a Canon Rebel film camera...

g2tegg 11-24-2008 05:58 PM

Thanks man! Rebel XTI at the moment.. But in all seriousness, the lens makes the image. I am really really impressed with this lens so far.

Verynice man, what lense did you pick up?

you'll find the world of macro photography addicting and challenging. some of the hardest macro work you can do is waterdrop photography.

example:

http://www.liquidsculpture.com/

last year i picked up a tamron 95mm macro lense and it's been pretty fun, great for when it's cold outside or raining and you feel like shooting.

g2tegg 11-24-2008 06:09 PM

Thats nuts!! Looks like some fun tho!! I picked up a cheapy Phoenix 100mm. The photographer I bought the lens off of replaced this one with a canon macro. He said that he couldnt find a single difference between the 2 lenses at all. He claims the optics are almost identical.. Meh, it was cheap and I wanted to try macro out lol

Beautyyyyyy!

Very nice work, I'll say that you have more patience than me. I used to own the 100 f2.8, but I sold it. I had no patience for that kind of stuff.

BTW fuzzy, you should try the water macro work with the 1dmkIII. The 10 frames per second will surely capture the right moment ;)

D C 2 11-25-2008 12:08 PM

Damn, that's nice! We should have an official camera corner thread here like ---- so people can actually learn from you guys, post pictures etc. I'm looking into a good camera, doing my reasearch, but obviously need to learn a lot more about them.

its me.. mario 11-25-2008 01:26 PM

g2tegg 11-25-2008 05:10 PM

Anyone use a 5d before?? I found one reasonably priced, and I'm playing with the idea of buying it. But that camera is only 3 fps I think.

Never used one, but you are right, only 3fps.

Full frame though, that might be worth a switch if you have the lenses.

Edit: Was that you on the 403 today just before 5 in the right lane just coming up on the Linc?

g2tegg 11-25-2008 05:40 PM

lol, guess not then... I've been driving the RSX since my Accord decided to spring a fuel leak from the feed line. Weather has been too shitty and cold to fix it. Probably get to it by the weekend.

g2tegg 11-25-2008 05:57 PM

The cold alone wouldn't have stopped me, but the rain doesn't help either.

That combined with the fact that by the time I get home its dark, well...

Also not really looking forward to trying to remove a rubber hose thats been attached to this particular "pipe" for almost 20yrs.

g2tegg 11-25-2008 06:09 PM

LOL dont we all wish he had our own shop.. Im not about to be under a car in this ----, I will be honest with ya. Plus, I would rather not be working in it everyday either.

p00nie 10-26-2009 08:31 PM

I know this is a REALLY old thread, but just looked at the photos from the OP now and they are amazing.

mctonyb 07-22-2010 08:12 AM

Nice pics. I bet you'd like the same type of lens but in a fisheye. You can really take some interesting close-ups with that combo.
