Canon FTW

I just picked up the rebel Xsi. I really wanted the 50D but can't afford it after buying a lot of stuff for the car so I just ended up grabbing this piece.

D C 2 12-01-2008 10:19 PM

onelankan 12-01-2008 11:17 PM

its me.. mario 12-02-2008 06:13 PM

if you wanted the 50d, you should've considered the 40d or 30d even

Blue Dragon 12-02-2008 06:31 PM

I considered those but those aren't any cheaper lol. I'm fine with the rebel and will try working my way up.

Buff4Prez Yo 12-02-2008 07:39 PM

nice score

I'm still trying to figure out all the functions. Fully Automatic is the easiest LOL.

Set it to M. Decide which is more important...the aperture or shutter speed...set it accordingly (or to what you want) press down on the shutter half way..check & set the exposure and press the shutter down all the way.

Go from there :D After i learned the concept of shooting in M it became more fun learning little things along the way and online.

D C 2 12-03-2008 10:49 AM

LOL yeah I'll be learning all along for a long time now.

VTEC_Inside 12-03-2008 11:55 AM

Once you figure it out you can buy an external flash and start to learn all over again...

Lol... Just saying, it took me about a year until I could honestly say I was comfortable with my D200. Add a SB-800 to the mix and its a whole new ball game.

g2tegg 12-03-2008 01:58 PM

^^ oh c'mon your a nikon user that wishes he was a canon user. Admit it!! haha. But that will be my next purchace as well. The built in flash is useless

Might want to pick up a pocket wizard or two while you are at it, while I continue along triggering my remote flash using commander mode :P

On a more serious note, the smaller Canon bodies just don't feel comfortable to me, and the menus are well weird, but I got started using Nikon so...

Its all about the lenses now for me... I already have the 12-24 F4, give me a 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8VR and I'll be happy :)

g2tegg 12-03-2008 02:29 PM

I'd have to agree with the feel of the camera.. As for menus I personally like the canon more then nikon. But thats just personal preferance more then anything else. Im looking into the 40d or if I have the coin a 50d for next year. Slightly bigger and more of a sturdy feel. And for some reason I like the fact that there is a lcd display on the top as well. Makes it handy when the camera is on a tripod.

Yeah, I don't believe I've held any of the xxD body Canons, just xxxD bodies and a 1dMk3 which is a nice ------- camera no matter what you like. I probably wouldn't mind the xxD bodies either.

I'm with you on the status LCD. I simply don't like having to use the big power hungry LCD on the back to change a setting. I played with a buddies D60 and that was the most frustrating part about the camera for me.

D C 2 12-03-2008 08:33 PM

^ Never had the time yet. By the time I get home it gets dark. Probably over the weekend.

-=GMAN=- 12-04-2008 10:07 PM

All I can tell you mofo's is that the 50D is AWESOME :-)

D C 2 12-04-2008 11:02 PM

^ 50D is obviously awesome but it's made to be used by people in the professional photography line though.

D C 2 12-06-2008 08:04 PM

LOL I have no idea what I was trying to do. I'll post a pic anyways because richie demanded one lol :D

http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/n...2/IMG_0085.jpg

richie 12-06-2008 08:27 PM

looks like you took that with a long ass shutter speed

onelankan 12-06-2008 09:12 PM

If you took that outside that turned out pretty bright for a 1 second shutter speed :S

Looks like you were taking a pic of the road when a car drove by? lol

D C 2 12-06-2008 09:58 PM

Na I was taking rolling shots with the Sports mode on. Everything else was a disaster but this one was pretty neat as compared to others.

Nice pick up! Camera's are too much fun.

g2tegg 12-21-2008 03:50 PM

First pic is way too dark. Your on the right track with the second. I like it! Would make a huge difference if you had a speedlight. But good nevertheless.

D C 2 12-21-2008 10:28 PM

^ had to flash off in the first one. I'm just trying out different things and learning.

Here's another one I took on Saturday morning. I just spotted the new TSX and got too late in getting the camera ready lol. Just caputred the nose.
