Camera Corner

Post all the Camera related questions in this thread. Post the pictures you take etc. Everything camera related can go in this thread.

Here's my question to the camera geeks. I'm looking into buying a camera and so far I have looked at one of these. Not looking to spend more than 700 before taxes.

Not pertaining to this thread, but DC2s sig... I still have a carburetor on my Honda... :)

Dont touch Sony IMO. Or fuji, kodak etc. If you want a DSLR look into a canon or nikon. Its not a matter of what company is better, because both manufacturers have pros and cons. I use Canon, and love it. The Xsi is a good choice, IMO, for a beginner dslr. Or the XT (1000d) is another good option. Keep in mind its not a cheap hobby hehe

D C 2 11-27-2008 09:56 PM

^ I'm thinking of going with this one. What do you suggest? Since you have used Canons you might be familiar with this I guess. It's just so confusing because I'm a n00b at all this camera stuff.

I say good choice. Like I previously stated, pros and cons to both Nikon and Canon. Difference is, I'm biased now that I have Canon haha. Get the Xsi. Good beginner dslr. If your still unsure, google rebel xsi reviews/comparisons. Like:

Lots of canon folks switching to Nikon now that the D700 performs better at high ISO than any canon model (5D MK IIisn't shipping yet).
